Peg Corwin's insight:

4 recommendations to improve your website's rank using Scoop.it

  1. Upgrade to Scoop.it's Business Plan so you can host your Topic Digests/Boards on your own domain or domains. Your own website won't get any SEO credit for your curation activities if your activity is on Scoop.it itself, as the free and Pro options are.

  2. Edit the titles, images and excerpts from the scoop. The company says edited content does better with search engines. (My guess is that edited content is less likely to be interpreted as duplicate content, which the engines would ignore.)

  3. Publish frequently. Search engines (and visitors) both prefer fresh content.

  4. Promote your page and your scoops on social media. This is likely to create backlinks to and comments on your pages, as well as resharing. Furthermore, search engines take social traffic into account when determining how to rank you pages.
